This is a nice and interesting challenge where I decided to participate - Art Jewellery Contest “ECOSIGHT” 2020. As the name itself suggests the show is dedicated to a wide range of environmental problems, how they can be expressed in jewellery and most importantly how they can make us reflect and be more proactive…
The design of my work - “Paper meteor” bangle - represents a minimalist approach to the philosophy of life. Simplicity and efficiency is required to combat the excesses that damage our planet. The innovative material used as a centrepiece is a “rock” of highly compressed recycled micro-paper, initially created for interior design purposes. The rock was intentionally left “raw”, I just emphasized some edges with a slight touch of paint. The bangle is ready-to-wear and the material is waterproof.
